Alongside this, Dave has spent much time developing the use of Whole Class Marking to improve feedback and assessment outcomes throughout the school. Dave’s passion to create an English curriculum centred around books, driven by audience and purpose for writing and embedded in children’s own interests has enabled him to collaboratively redesign the approach towards writing progression within his setting. Working closely with other English leads, he has shared his experiences of these areas and his practice with colleagues across the local area. He enjoys mentoring as much as learning from the teachers he works with and is keen to support teachers in the Swaledale Alliance to further improve provision within their schools.
