Mike leads a four-school, 450 pupil federation, which includes pre-school provision and is also the strategic lead of the Swaledale Alliance. He's been a headteacher since January 2006 and has had a wide range of experience in supporting and collaborating with a large number of schools through his role as a headteacher of a National Teaching School and a National Leader of Education.

The 4 schools in the federation are Brompton-on-Swale CE Primary, Crakehall CE Primary, Leeming and Londonderry Community Primary and Pickhill CE Primary.
