Mrs Nicola Dobson

Bolton on Swale St Mary's Church of England VC School

Nicola has been headteacher at Bolton-on-Swale St Mary’s Church of England Primary School since 2010. She brings a broad range of teaching experience and expertise across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 to her role. In her previous post as Deputy at RAF Leeming Primary she developed a good understanding of the needs of service pupils. This is an area of interest and expertise she has sustained in her current school.

Her strong leadership has secured consistently Good Ofsted outcomes (2012; 2016; 2019) and Outstanding SIAMS, Church School Inspection judgements (2012; 2016). She has a wide range of leadership experience supporting head teachers, governors and leadership teams of schools in challenging situations, new head teachers and those developing leadership in Church Schools. Within the Swaledale Alliance she has supported PST and Lead Governor recruitment and worked as a Partnership School Reviewer. She facilitates the NPQ for Leading Teaching for the Red Kite Teaching School Hub. She works closely with Durham University mentoring BA Education students in her role as School Training Centre Coordinator.
