Mike leads a six-school, 650-pupil federation, which includes pre-school provision, and is also the strategic lead of the Swaledale Alliance. He's been a headteacher since January 2006 and has had a wide range of experience in supporting and collaborating with a large number of schools through his previous role as lead of a National Teaching School and National Leader of Education.

The 6 schools in the federation are Aiskew, Leeming Bar CE Primary, Brompton-on-Swale CE Primary, Crakehall CE Primary, Hutton Rudby Primary, Leeming and Londonderry Community Primary and Pickhill CE Primary.
