Mr Gavin Cope

Specialisms	English - Reading History  Geography

Gavin has worked at Hunton and Arrathorne Primary School since September 2021. Starting under the role of ‘Lead Teacher’, which included working as a Y5/6 teacher, leading several subjects including English & Reading and PE, as well as supporting the HT in the running of the school.

In October 2022, Gavin was appointed as Assistant Headteacher alongside being the Y5/6 teacher. He currently leads the following curriculum subjects:

• English and Reading
• History
• Geography
• PSHE (joint)

In addition to this, he is attendance lead, DDSL and PLAC lead. As part of his role, he assists the HT in developing and overseeing the strategic direction of the school, including the development and assessment of the school SEF and SDP.

Gavin has taught for thirteen years, nine of which being in UKS2, giving him particularly strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum.
