Throughout my career in Education, both in my teaching career and prior to that, I have predominately focused my training within Early Years and have gained in-depth experience and knowledge over the past 14years. I am passionate and enthusiastic about Early Years and the importance it holds for children's foundation for learning. Since becoming Early Years Lead I successfully helped to shape EYFS at Hunton Arrathorne Primary School to ensure we gained an 'Outstanding' grade for our Early Years Provision. (September 2023).
Within my time as Lead, I have designed an ambitious and progressional curriculum that encompasses our school and provides opportunities for links to children's interests and their future learning, alongside intentional vocabulary throughout each theme in the year.
'Children’s interests are skilfully woven into the curriculum to enhance their engagement and learning. The school ensures that the early years curriculum prepares children well for what they will learn in subsequent years.' OFSTED 2023
In addition, I have led information events for parents and training for our Early Years team and whole school on areas such as Early Years Overviews, Quality Interactions and Adult Engagement.
Of my time within the role, the area I am most proud of is our Outstanding provision, which has been carefully created by our Early Years team, to inspire and engage!
The areas in which I feel I could support others are;
- Supporting to plan a curriculum, which is progressional and personalised to your school and children
- Short term planning - to link curriculum, interests and next steps together
- Quality Interactions
- Providing Outstanding Continuous Provision and Enhanced provision - indoors and outdoors
- Writing in Early Years
- Support for new Early Years Leads/ ECT's in Early Years
I look forward to working in partnership with you and your school to ensure the best start into school life for our current and future children!
