HLTA Programme
New HLTA - Development and Assessment Route
This programme prepares candidates to be assessed against the national HLTA standards, leading to the award of HLTA status. It is intended for teaching assistants who are already demonstrating high levels of capability and who are seeking to develop themselves professionally. It focuses specifically on how to present evidence of current practice in order to meet the national standards. This programme also incorporates elements of professional development.
On this course, potential HLTAs will attend 4 full day and 7 twilight sessions over the duration of 2 terms. The sessions will focus on developing the candidate's ability to teach whole classes of children across the primary age range.
Candidates must produce certificates for English and Maths at Level 2. Please speak to Margaret about skills tests if required.
